"This place gets going early in the morning, serving tradies and cops on their way to work. Pizzas and other bread snacks are lined up ready to be heated, hit with lemon juice and chilli flakes if desired and wrapped to go.
The meat pizza ($4.00) is topped with a finely pounded mix of minced lamb, tomato and salt and packs a bigger flavour punch than its humble appearance would suggest. Try the saj ($3.00), a huge disc of thin bread sprinkled with za'atar – oregano, salt, sesame seeds and sumac – then rolled into a cylinder." Read the full article here. |
"Head straight for the saj, a thin flatbread stretched out to about 30cm wide that’s cooked on a domed griddle called a – you guessed it – saj. There are a handful of tables inside and out, but most people are here for takeaway. Grab a bottle of salted yoghurt drink from the fridge and you’ll still have change from a tenner." Read the full article here. |
